turned the light off and chicks started fussing

there 8 weeks old. trying to wean them off of the light at night . i turned it back on and the calmed right down. this is gonna be fun ha.

My chicks huddled in a corner, scared to death. I put a night light in their coop and put them on their roost for a couple of nights and they now get on the roost by themselves. The little night light gives just a glow in there. I read somewhere on here that chickens cant see in the dark at all. So you might want to try a little night lights.

mine did that too, they were also outside. Their juvinile pen sits right outside my back door, so for the 1st couple of weeks after I turned the coop light off my back porch light came on just to help them adjust, kinda like my own version of nitelight!

try a 60watt black bulb to ease them into it. i take mine from a 250 to a 125 to a 60 watt black. if i am brooding in the house its only a 60watt black bulb

ya, i wouldnt worry at this point. try the black light if you want. they should be fine
