I have borrowed incubator that turns the eggs, my question is when do I turn this off and do I take it out for the last few days and lay the eggs on their sides? TIA

Yes, on day 18, you begin lockdown. Turn off the turner, gently remove all the eggs from the turner and place them on their sides in the incubator. Take the turner out of the bator, close the bator and get the humidity to hatching levels, and then ASAP clean the turner thoroughly to make sure that no bacteria are stuck on it when you give the borrowed incubator back.

I am assuming that you are hatching chickens? The humidity levels that have worked well for me (and a lot of others on this site) are 30-40% on days 1-17 and then 75% for lockdown. Of course you will need to adjust this based on your eggs and your location. If you monitor your air cells on days 7 and 14 you should be able to adjust to get the proper level.
