Put an X on one side of your eggs and an O on the opposite side. They lay on their side. Turn 3 times a day which is an odd number of turns. It's from one side to the other. I usually turn once in the morning, 2 pm or so and then one more time before bed.

Mark them in pencil.

Forgot to add: I lay the eggs fat end at the top and pointy end towards the bottom of the bator. Mine lay in rows.

Any type hen/poultry wil usually get off a nest of eggs for 15 to 20 mintues so it's okay to let humidity and temps drop. They will come back up to range withing half an hour or so.
