turning fan off during lockdown?

I've recently had some issues with eggs drying out at hatch. In some of my last few hatches I've helped out more chicks than I have wanted to. One was so dried that I had to apply olive oil to the chick to allow it to unroll.

I've been running the fan thru incubation and I'm getting ready to Lockdown and I was wondering if its unadvisable to turn the fan off?

Its probably not a good idea. If your thermostat is set with the fan on an you turn the fan off an let the thermal layers form then the air at the egg level could change temp by up to 20 degrees. http://cmfarm.us/stillair.html

You may have to much ventilation or to low of humidity at hatch time.
