Well after weeks of bugging DH to build my new silkies and frizzles a coop, (right now they are in the guest room to little to go outside right now) he was looking through the bargain trader and found a 7X16 shed for sale. We went and looked at it, lucky its on the next road over from us. It is older but seems very well built for its age. They are moving it here tomorrow. I will post pic when it gets here. I am going to try and divide the shed into different coops to seperate by color when they get bigger. I have no idea how to go about doing this but maybe after I post pic's I can get some great idea from other BYS'er. The people are having to move so they were asking a bit more for the shed, but after they thought we were not going to buy it they said give us $200.00 and its yours. I hope it was a good deal, but seems so, since the materials I had priced seemed more then that. Needs alittle work, but its better then a empty spot waiting for someone to build the coop.

I resently converted my hubbys shed into a large coop. I like it alot and they have plenty of room. I got real creative with it. I like it alot and girls seem to love it. I would love to see pictures when you have some.

i have a shed with garage door I converted half into a coop. I used free pallets to make the walls but due to my limited carpentry skills Im a little stuck at the moment.

i think the rest of the wall will be hardware cloth to the ceiling, because, as I said, Im a little stuck. After this pic was taken I covered the walls with painted wood paneling I was given, I put insulation only on the outside wall.

What I am hoping to do is have 4-5 small coop's, in this shed. I guess I need to figure out how many of the chicks I have I am going to keep. When people put Blue, black, splash on the silkie eggs does that mean they are all cooped together? If so I guess that coop would have to be bigger then say just the white pen, Then I have some frizzles, and a few EE. I guess that would be it. I really should just get graph paper and draw a few things up. I believe its 3 to 4 foot per silkie in a coop. Well I am still very excited, I didn't think my coop would be this big, yeah!
