I have hatched many eggs, but I have never seen what I think I'm seeing. Twins? I swear there are two different little bodies moving around in there. I am 14 days out now. I've made sure I know which egg it is that I'm wondering about when hatching time comes. This will be interesting if it happens..a first...

That happens with double yolkers. Unfortunately they don't usually make it b/c the chicks don't have room in the shell to pip and hatch. There are a couple people on here who have hatched them successfully by helping them out at exactly the right time.

Thanks Kelly,

Helping them out makes sense, and the right time..I will have to get on the net here and do some reading and watching I guess. I have helped chicks out plenty of times, success every time so far..so...I will be sad if there are two, and it doesn't work, but like I said, first time..a first time for everything..also, one could be developed fine, the other may not...some of the things I've heard.

Anyway, will find out! It is a large egg.

I just recently had a double yolker egg incubating. Certainly not purposely .... I would never do that. At the end of my hatch, when I eggtopsied, I discovered two dead chicks inside an egg. It just made me sick (sad). The egg was a large egg, but not a Jumbo egg. I just assumed it was a large egg from my cochin.

Nope, I would never purposely try to hatch a double yolker.
