Is it possible for about a day or so before they should be starting to think about pipping that you would actually see the egg kind of 'rock' just a little bit.

I swear to god I think I saw the egg move, not much, but about 3 times and I just want to know if it's my imagination or if this can really happen.. ?

And if it DOES happen, this is a sign that hatching is moderately imminent, yes?

(ETA: Okay clearly those who are going to hatch are going to hatch in the next few days. *laughs* So it's imminent either way, but you know what I mean

I've seen them rock a little before pipping.

You aren't going crazy

I woke up at 5:15 this morning *POSITIVE* that I heard peeping (turns out there is a bird outside that to a very sleepy Pei sounds like what I think a peeping chicken baby would sound like).. Suffice it to say if the eggs had eyes they would have been glaring at me saying "Why the hell are you shining that light in here darn you, even the ROOSTER is still asleep!"

My husband is home for the next few days (he just had hernia surgery) and although he can't move around a huge amount (it's funny how you don't notice how much you use those abdominal muscles until they have a 3" cut in them!) but I am ABSOLUTELY jealous that he'll be home today and monday.. I'm hoping most of The Collective hatch this weekend.. lol.. I'll be the one primarily taking care of them, so I want to be there for all the excitement!!!!

I've had eggs that were VERY active in the incubator before they hatched; some to the point where they turned themselves in a different direction, and even a couple that rolled from the spot I put them in!
