I bought 5 straight run chicks and ended up with two too many roosters.
Meet Monty and Moe!
These boys are about 4-1/2 months old, are very healthy and came from a reputable breeder.
They're located in York County SC.
I would rather not attempt to ship.

Help me find a good home for these good looking fellas!

I know you'd rather not ship, but we live rather close state-wise, so they wouldn't be boxed long, especially since it'd take
the required overnight shipping. I live in northern GA, so I live as close to you in GA as I can. They are so lovely and I've been trying so hard
to get a Silky for my fiance'. Please consider me ^,^

If it weren't for the distance I'd meet you half way, but our car needs some work and I wouldn't risk it right now.
It's my understanding that shipping is pricey and more than that I would worry about the bird making it in one piece.
Just curious, do you and your Fiance'e have chickens now?
The reason I ask is that although I highly recommend Silkies, you would want to have a flock of only girls for one of these roosters.
The roos won't get along with each other but should work with one or more pullets.
I would add that if you don't have any birds currently, work towards getting your Fiance'e a couple of girls.
The female Silkie is one of the sweetest, most gentle chickens I know of and they love to be held as long as they were raised being handled.
The boys tend to be more boisterous and aren't as fond of being held.

Our own vehicle is in rough shap too, so we can't exactly meet either.
And yes, we have three hens--a very sweet little Wyandotte, and two Production reds.
I've never owed a Silky but I've heard and read everywhere that they are easily bullied.
We do have one other who is supposed to be a roo, but he's far too young to even tell. It's a Jersey Giant.
I of course, wouldn't allow him to bully the little Silkies though.

I am wanting a few more silkies. I have a Rhode Island Red rooster with my ither flocks, so no Silkie roo unless he would get along with my Rh. Islnd Red roo! He is very protective! I love Silkies! I only have two silkie hens, they are so close and inseperable! Fun to watch too!

I'm not sure if either of these roos would get along with a RIR roo and especially if he's very protective, I'm thinking he wouldn't tolerate it very well.
