I'm a newbie and I have 4 Ameraucanas and 5 Barred Rocks. One of my Ameraucanas has the two inside toes on her right foot bent in toward her left foot. She does not favor it, and has perched on the sides of the boxes in their coop. I noticed that now her left middle toe has a sore on it. I think she caught it with one of her right bent toes. There is a scab on it and it doesn't look swollen, or infected, nor does she seem to be favoring it. Should I just watch it? I noticed one of the Barred Rock pick at it once, but it didn't seem to bother her either, so???

Could you post a picture of the toes and scab? There are conditions such as bumblefoot, frostbite, and congenital curled toes, but without seeing it, I wouldn't be sure.

Here is the picture and while my husband was holding her I touched the scab foot and it didn't seem like she was in pain.

Did you have her since she was a chick? Some chicks have curled toes... What you could try to do is cut Popsicle sticks to the length of her toes and then wrap pipe cleaners around to keep the Popsicle sticks on, so her toes are held straight and they might eventually stay that way? This might only work for chicks, though, because their bodies are still growing... But if she seems ok, then just keep a watch on her if it starts to bother her..

Yes I think it is probably too late to fix those crooked toes since it must be done in the first few days. The scab just llooks like an iinjury as you say. I would probabl spray it with BluKote or put some iodine on it.
