Two broodys

This morning I'm glad to say that since Sunday 2 of my orpington chickens have sat down and not moved, yay more broodys

Good luck.

i know this has nothing to do with what your talking about... i don't know how to make my own thread, but my bantam eggs are on day 20 and are doing nothing yet

Give them time. To create a thread go to the proper forum and click on 'Post New Thread' in upper right hand corner.

Candle them. If the eggs look full and dark and are slightly heavy then they have baby chicks inside. If you see them dark and they still don't hatch after another couple of days then your chicks may have died in the eggs.

Once, one of my Silkie hens got broody so I gave her four eggs to sit on. I was never sure how developed they were so I went out to candle them often. One time I picked up one of the eggs and it started peeping, even though it wasn't hatched yet . All but one of the eggs hatched. The fourth almost hatched, but didn't end up making it.
