Our girls(?) are 4 weeks old tomorrow. They are Barred Rocks and I'm getting a bad feeling they're both boys. One is super friendly, but seems very large compared to the other, and compared with our Rhode Island Reds who are the same age. Only wondering about the Barred Rocks

They're young and can still do some changing, but they do look similar to my Barred Rock Cockerel. Barred Rock pullets don't have so much white barring. Of course they're barred but the white isn't so thick. It's in the genetics. Can you post a picture of each one? I see the one that is pictured individually, but the other isn't in the best position for the ones that are so good at this to tell. Also, my BR pullets had dark legs (on the front of their legs) but I've heard this doesn't always apply with Hatchery BR's (mine are Hatchery stock).
Please keep in mind that they're young so it's not always obvious at this age. They still have growing and feathering to do yet. I am only basing my thoughts on the 3 barred rocks I have, and that's not very many, so please keep that in mind. I'm pretty new

My 5 week old barred bantam... I’m sure he’s a roo.
yours have pale combs and are darker in feathers, my opinion is they are girls

Here is an old picture of my Barred Rock Cockerel (he'll be a year old next month, in May) at 4 weeks old. Comparing your birds to him, they do look like possible pullets. He has thin black and wide white barring (which is male specific). Plus, his comb is already pink

The other 2 birds are marans & legbar crosses.

Okay, here are more pictures. Chicken #1. (Golden Belly)
I found pics of them as day-old chicks. I'll make a 3rd post for that. Based on their head spot I think I have a pullet and a cockerel.

I say roo for this baby. There's more white than black and legs are lighter. My guess!!
