In another thread, where I asked about my small "flock", a few people said we may have a Cuckoo Marans roo:

This was based upon the fact it has more white in it's barring. I have seen many photos of Cuckoo Marans and some roos look identical to someone elses pullets...which in turn look like mine.
This morning. we decided that if he was a roo then we would have to rehome him due to our urban location...but we would want a replacement. We went back to the farm and got what we think is now definately a Cuckoo Marans pullet, based on the info we found here. We have decided to keep the lighter Marans just in case they aren't a roo.
These two chickens are from the same batch of Marans. The darker one has smaller feet, maybe slightly thinner legs and more prnounced tail feathers.
The pullet:

If it is a roo how hard are they to keep? Are Marans roos noisy?
Cheers,
