Two died at the same time

Cooking fumes can be hazardous to newly born chicks. It's better to keep them away from the kitchen and have your air vents on while cooking or crack a window.

When they are that young use paper towels as there bedding. It's generally dust free and soft on there feet.

RwG thank you, and though I’m new to this, I ain’t no spring chicken that’s for sure lol. I too am using a mason jar waterer. It holds 2 cups of water. I was sure to use the scoop provided 1 scoop per gallon. I then cut it half (8) then again (4), and again, (2). Which I feel crazy now because I can’t say for sure if a gallon is 16 or 32 cups. Just going by memory and like I said before, we’ll I can’t remember that either. Lmao. Getting old is for the birds. Lol lol Have a nice day. Many blessings!
I read a tablespoon per GALLON of water for acv. I use half a Cap full (cap from acv jar) for quart water drinker.
Hope all is going well.

Two things stood out and has been mentioned:
Cedar is not recommended for chickens, although some will, affects their respiratory system. IMO best to play it safe and stick with pine shavings. I use potty pads for at least the first week, paper towels is good to ... You can keep a close eye on their poop, sometimes I continue for 2wks but then would change to pine shavings. Recently I tried hemp bedding (Amazon), prefer it to the pine shavings for the brooder.

Chicks best not to be raised in cooking area, again as mentioned (read) the "fumes" from the non-stick pots/pans & gas from stove.

Yes, I agree "gettin old is for the birds" ... Not fun so we do whatever it takes to keep us "happy" :hugs
