Hello! I have one 9 week old duckling. I know they do much better with another friend and I also go to school, so I think it would be in his best interest to have another friend. My only concern would be, will he not want to snuggle me or love me as much because he has a new friend? Will the new one and I create a bond?

. If your duck has bonded with you then he will most likely still want to snuggle you even when he gets a new pal.

I'd give him a stuffed animal until you get him a friend. Even then with there only being two of them they will be strongly bonded with you. As long as you spend time with them they will have a bond with you. I've had as many as 15 ducklings in the house at once and each one had a bond with me. They are just like any other pet. If you spend time with them they will eventually have a bond. Don't be discouraged if at first the new duckling isn't as cuddly. It will take a little bit for it to warm up to you.
