Hello everyone. I have 2 Moms that were broody for several weeks. They were each sitting on a few eggs and 1 hatched! I am so excited to see this naturally. They are in a coop up off the ground about 3 feet and I have a ramp going up to the door for them. I am not feeling too good about the baby going up the ramp. I'm affraid it may fall off and hurt itself. Also I have provided layer food for the Moms and I wonder if its ok for the baby to eat the later food? I do have med chic food I can give it but then we can't eat the Mothers' eggs for like 2 weeks.
I have also hatched eggs inside and have 2 babies in a broader in the house. They are only a few days apart. Should I just take the little hatching and bring it in with its siblings?

The two mothers shouldn’t be laying eggs yet, and they shouldn’t lay eggs for another 6 weeks. Feed both the chick and the mothers chick starter. You can try to add the other two chicks with them, just keep an eye on them.

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

As stated above, the mommas don't need layer right now so keep them all on starter for now. You can always use a Flock Raiser type feed, its low in calcium but high in protein. Layers can eat oyster shell on the side.

Enjoy all those mommas and babies, welcome to our roost! :)
