My husband is planning on building a coop similar to this one: http://handcraftedcoops.com/video . First- does anyone have the plans for this? Secondly- it has 2 nesting boxes- but houses four hens. Does that work? I always thought each hen had to have her own nesting box.

Any input appreciated!
Thanks!

You can have 4-5 hens use the same box. I'd do two in your case though so you can minimize the climbing in on top of each other.

What are the dimentions of the coop? That one doesn't look big enough for four hens unless maybe they're bantams. I see coops advertised all the time for four or six hens that are only really big enough for two or three max. so you have to be carefull. Rule of thumb is 4sq' coop space and 10sq' run space per bird.
