Two Questions about Guineas!

It supposedly takes 28 days to hatch guineas, though I've never had them take that long. Usually, day 25 or 26 is as long as they go. Humidity should be a little high, more 'average' range, no dry hatching. I try to keep mine about 50%, but if I set them with ducks they seem to do just fine

That just means they are hiding the nest! Unless they're penned...then I have no clue. If they free range then follow them, & see what areas they hang out in the most. Then go back when they're in another area and hunt for the nest. The last nest mine made...the dog actually found! She would not quit sniffing a certain area and sure enough, there it was. I have no idea how that big fat guinea got down in that hole though! lol

Thanks folks for the hatching info. No, my Guineas are pened in a 6 ft chainlink run with a cover. They have a house with shavings. I've carefully checked the shavings and found nothing. I guess it's now time to look UNDER house...only crawl space but will take a flashlight and check it out. I want them to free range my back yard but want some eggs to hatch first. Then can be loose.
Thanks...will let U know if I find any under the house.

They are not harder than chicken eggs in my opinion, they just take longer to hatch. I stop turning mine on the 24th day. I order a dozen sky blue guinea eggs from strombergs and I put them under a broody chicken hen that had hatched out 2 different sets of guinea eggs before with a 100% hatch rate and none hatched!!! There eggs come from Ralph Winter's Guinea Farm. That is what they told me on the telephone.
