Well, my spousal equivalent went fishing today and when he cleaned the redfish, or red drum, the chickens picked at and ate from the carcas' before he disposed of them. Is this OK? Does it make the eggs taste funny? If it does, for how long? Of all things....

Thank you, that makes me feel a little better. A friend told me that when she was little, her chickens ate from some crab shells and the eggs tasted funny for a while after that. I guess fresh fish is Ok every once in a while. After all, I should stop worrying; these are his chickens (mine will ship next week). I appreciate the advice from experienced chicken people-thanks again.

No problem! As long it has not been sitting around, they would be just fine. Too much of it would give them the squirts LOL!

As long as it's fresh, fish is a fine protein source. They will eat all they can, even shrimp and crab shells. Probably need to crush up the crab shells into smaller pieces, I would think...though maybe not.
