Uh-Oh I just found a soft shelled egg in coop!!! WHY????

I got ten eggs today, all were fine. I just went to check for any eggs before I stay in for the night and found a soft shelled egg on the floor of my coop. Is something wrong?? Why would this happen?? Help please, my hands are shaking! I love my girls, I hope this isn't bad???

It's fairly common, especially when the hens are new to laying. Are you offering oyster shell?

Yes, I am. Thats what made me nervous. One of my Black sex links was screaming today and going in and out of the box, then I found this. It scared me a bit. Thanks for answering me. I was sitting here with sweaty palms, talking to myself, asking someone to answer. This site is so great!!

She may have been a little egg bound with it, thus the screaming. I wouldn't worry unless she repeats with another soft shell one.
