UH-OH I was just given a pigeon!

I just got a pigeon from a couple who had their coop devastated and he is the lone survivor! I will spend the day building him an outdoor run and and indoor cage. Wish me luck! Let me know what else I should do for him, He is a big healthy white pigeon (I think he is a homer). I think he will need buddies eventually right?
