For about a month I've been working with a guy who does custom incubators...haggling, working out details, etc. I finally told him to just send me an invoice for the two tray model (it's a cabinet one with a hatching tray in the bottom). Well....he sent me an invoice for about $50 than the original price--but for a THREE TRAY model with the hatching drawer!

That means instead of 82 eggs, I can fit 123!

Oh and with the money I saved, I'm eyeing a hatcher I found as well....since all of those chicks couldn't shove in the one hatching drawer at once....

Man, DH is going to be little suspicious when those show up!

You're scaring me. I have done very well avoiding the very idea of a cabinet incubator. I even gave away some incubators. Now I'm down to ONLY six of them, three Brinsea Octagon20 Advance EX models and three Brinsea MiniAdvance incubators (two of them are EX models). I don't want to be able to hatch in large quantities at once.

With that said, I currently have 90 eggs in those six incubators, for Mahonri's Easter Hatch.

See why the idea of a cabinet incubator scares me?

I do think your score is pretty awesome.

This is a gorgeous, one too....I have been running three hovabators (forced air with auto turners) and one still air hovabator for years now. We just have too many temp fluctuations in our house. It gets down to 64 at night (sometimes 54 in the front room) and close to 75 in some parts of the house during the day....so I was constantly checking the incubators, adjusting the temperatures and worrying about them. This should hold the temp much better as it's got a thermostat in it and two computer fans....the guy guarantees them for as long as he's alive.

Luckily, I have about a 5' x 10' area in my coop which can easily be converted to a brooding area. I just have to get some sort of solid wall to block some of the wind that might blow in and move my light down. I might invest in a few of those Brinsea brooder thingys.
