I am starting to be concerned that one of our girls is a Roo. I am hoping not because I live in town and I can't have a rooster and would have to find a home for Crazy Mabel/Mack. I am new to chickens, so I am not sure but from other pictures I have seen I think Mabel is showing signs of being a roo. She/he is 4 weeks old, so take a look at the pics and let me know what you think please.

So what do I have a rooster??

Oh boy, I feel your pain. I am going through the same thing right now. Other than looking like a roo what is she/he doing?

Other than looks, she/he is the least friendly of the girls. She extremely dislikes being handled, and she is aggressive with the other girls. If they are sitting on the roost, she will jump up and peck at them. Or if she is on the roost, and one of the girls goes under the roost, she/he will jump on top of them. But other than those things, she/he acts just like the other girls.

Keep a watch, I bought a bunch of pullets, and thought one was a boy for sure, bossy, mean, comb and wattle development, but nope she turned out to be a girl and head honcho

Wow, that is exactly how mine was acting. I swear I hear her crowing, some tell me it's screeching because they are too young to crow, but they are 9 weeks old now...I actually separated her from the others and put her in a dog crate, they see each other but she can't bully them. They still lay down next to each other on opposite sides of the fence in the brooder. Good luck to you and let me know what happens.
