I just got 4 new chicks. They're a little over a week old. They came from a not so great situation but so far have been doing great (eating, drinking, and started trying to fly today). While checking for pasty butt I noticed one of them has a scabby stump on her belly button. The other 3 do not. Is this normal? My other chickens had a thin stringy scab when we had first gotten them but they were just a day old and it fell off within a few days. This stump is not so thin. I'll try and get a picture in a bit but thought I would ask in the meantime.

Photos would help :pop

From your description is sounds like something that needs to be left alone. As long as she's active/eating/drinking then I wouldn't worry too much.
Yes, I'll get photos soon. Ended up having to go somewhere and took longer than expected.
