Hi, I have a 24 hour old chick with what appears to be a mass of un obsorbed sac just hanging from tummy. Is this an open intestine or sac that won't dry? She is eating and drinking pretty well but mass is about the size of a quarter and I see fresh blood spots occasionally. Any suggestions? Momma hen

I would watch her carefully so the other chicks dont pick at that...Let mother nature run its course..how old is this chick? When that happens to me after hatching, I leave it in bator much longer to allow the high humidity to work its magic on the absorption on the yolk sac with ease....Its when it starts to dry out that there could be problems. Cant really tell without a photo to see exactly what it could be...
