Can I feed it to the ducks and chickens? Or does it have to be cooked?

I don't cook rolled oats. I buy it at the feed store in 50# bags and mix it with my other grains, especially this time of year. Occasionally I make eggs for the chickens and I will stretch it with rolled oats. Also I add raisins. Yes, over 300 and I still try to spoil them. Rotten creatures.

Whole oats from the feedstore (with hulls included) are also a great treat for birds. The hull adds some fiber and can correct some feather eating issues (along with protein), and the hulls cleanse the digestive tract as well as apparently acting as a pre-biotic to the good bacteria in digestive tracts.

I like using it as a small part of my feeding regimine when I need to condition birds without putting a lot of fat on them.
