Unknown presence

This hole has been here since last year. I haven't had any issues with whoever lives in it, but unsure what it is. I thought at first ground hog, but seems too small. This is right outside of the coop and so far only seen a coon (which I quickly got rid of cause an issue I had a few months ago.) And a possum. Its dug out about every 3 days. Have set up a cam to see if I cant find out what it is. Any ideas?

Looks like a location used for dust bathing. Are your chickens or rabbits able to get there during the day.

No rabbits but chickens yes. This goes underneath the barn and has been used even before I got my chickens

Push some leaves and dirt into the hole and see if user cleans it up. Do you have access to a trail / game camera?

I put a game trail came out before it got dark tonight

Yep this one scares the crap out of me anytime I go out while its dark

I dont think so... I think they just eat insects. My biggest worry is it digging under the coop
