unshelled egg

today i got a egg with no shell. is there any way to help the chicken there is grit but there are no signs of any of them eating it but the free range a lot.

Are feeding oyster shell? if you have weak or thin egg shells they need more calcium

Sometimes it just happens. New layers do this when they are getting started. It's just a fluke. Now if you get it long term you could have a problem. It should only be a random occurrence.
