Hey, everyone! I purchased 5 supposedly Rhode Island Red straight run from Tractor Supply. However, I think it may have been a bin of various "leftover" chicks that all looked similar. They are now about 9 weeks old. 2 of them are RIR for sure. 1 could be. The last two...I have no idea. They have what looks like the start of a feather crest on their head, but not like that of a Polish according to other 9 week old pics I've seen of Polish.
We were hoping for a RIR roo. The two that I know are RIR are definitely pullets. I think the two of the unidentified breed are hens too based on such even feather patterns, but I'm no expert for sure. Any chance anyone knows the breed and/or gender of these two beauties? One has a more blackish/brown crest and the other has a more reddish crest. I did the best I could with pics....
