Unusual behaviors?

I have 3 silkie hens and one white leghorn hen that are determined to become mothers this late in the fall. So far the Silkie hens have hatched 20 (with one being born just a little while ago) and they are still sitting. Is this normal behavior for November?

how are they hatching if they dont have a rooster with them???

? Why do you think there is no rooster? With 25 chickens I assume that there might be many roosters.

There is one Silkie rooster. I'm just wondering if chickens normally continue to hatch eggs into November?

we had a chick once born on christmas. so, no, sometimes the brooding instinct is stronger than their tiny brains.
