Welcome to the site! I’m wondering if your chick might be a frizzle. You don’t happen to know anything about the chicks you got do you?Hi,
I recently adopted some chicks that were apart of a school program. I noticed that one has unusual wing feathers. Is it a problem or will this little one be fine with no intervention?

You’re welcomeThanks for your reply.
All I know is they're Lohmons and about 2 weeks old.
I think it's super cute too. I hope it's a little girl because where I live we can't have roosters. You’re welcomesorry I’m not more sure, I don’t have frizzles myself, but let me see if I can call on someone who might know @Debbie292d could this chick have frizzle feathers?
Also your chick sure is cute!
I’m in the same boat, I feel your pain. I just wish our city lawmakers could hear the ruckus my girls make every morning before I throw scratch out and again when they’re laying eggs or fighting over a nesting boxI think it's super cute too. I hope it's a little girl because where I live we can't have roosters.
Yes, ma'am, those sure look like frizzles to me. I hatch a few every batch, and you can't really tell the first few days which ones are, but by a week old, it's very obvious, and they look similar to that. Next comes some straight up behind their neck.Hi,

So cute! Do frizzles need extra help staying warm in the winter?Yes, ma'am, those sure look like frizzles to me. Thank you! Yes, because their feathers stick up, their skin is exposed if you blow on them. Other silkies at least have more coverage of their skin. We heat our coops to 40F for all of them though. So cute! Do frizzles need extra help staying warm in the winter?
