Two days ago one of my quails, Minnie, had passed away, one of the other quails doesn't seem to be doing great either. Luckily this hasn't happened for a while but she'd get picked on much more than the others and would get an injured eye aswell as for some reason, both her ears would have blood around/in them and I don't understand how that happens. I have also noticed how much smaller she is to the others and I've noticed it when the quails are ill they seem smaller and I'm unsure if that's something that happens when they're ill even when they're over 1 Yr old.

What kind of quail? Coturnix?
What is your male to female ratio?
What are you feeding them?
How many do you have?
How much space do they have?
Do they have plenty of hiding places?
Does their poop look normal?
Do you have pictures?

Quail can be pretty mean to each other especially anything smaller or different, new or sick. And if not mean it it just plain curiosity. We have a very gentle quail, herself a former victim of some very amorous brothers, that I caught with blood all over, and it wasn’t hers. I was nursing along another hen for over a month: isolation ward to heal and then back to her pen when better, but she was always attacked again, always the right ear. Ended up culling the poor thing after 4 rounds. They have 2 settings: can it eat me (run away!) or can I eat it (let’s try!). They are adorable but sometimes drive you nuts!
