I don't understand it, but the duck seems fine now. She's still in her pen and loves the warm water that I give her every 2 hrs. She likes sitting in it too. She's alert, actually sat down to rest and quacked at her playmates. Big improvement. Now if only I talked duck talk and found out what the problem was, I'd feel better.
Thanks again everyone

I was finished reading you other post and was thinking to myself of what the cause could be... and then I see your update. Good to read she is doing better- it does now sound more like something she ate upset her - and now that it has passed through her system she is acting more normal again.

Yes, I'll keep her in the pen again tomorrow so she can rest up a bit more. If I see she really wants to get out and play, I'll let her. And if I see she's slowing down, I'll put her back in the pen. I just keep my eye on her for a few days. You could be right, something she ate. Haven't got a clue what that might be.

Hoping your baby continues to improve!
So glad she's doing better.

Sometimes if I think the ducks have eaten something toxic, I sprinkle powdered charcoal (NOT BRIQUETTE CHARCOAL which contains poisons) into their water. You can get it in a drugstore in capsules, or if you burn clean hardwood, you can grind some up yourself. It's just that you don't want to use anything but pure activated (finely ground) charcoal. But it's used for detoxification.

Just something to bear in mind.
