The chicks have been living in the coop which is placed in my garden for nearly two weeks. The first few nights, I had to put them in the coop. Then, I left them confined to the small coop/run a little longer for a day or two. After that, they started going into the coop at sunset all by themselves. They were snuggling up together in a nest box, trying to stay warm at first, I'm sure...I guess it has finally become uncomfortable, trying to squish 7 growing bodies into one box at the same time,
(they looked pretty ridiculous) tonight they were all roosting (still squished).
So far, the predator proofing on the temporary TSC coop seems to be holding up... raccoon prints everywhere, but hasn't been able to breach.
So far, it's a happy, healthy bunch!
