Update - Day 20 - I now have 2 new babies

I have a new baby chick, 9 more to go. I think I might have 2 more tonight(hopefully). I don't have anymore fingernails to chew either. I didn't get much done today. I had to keep looking in the incubator. I'll see if I can figure out how to post pictures. I'm so excited, I just love babies.

That is so exciting! Congratulations!!!!!!!

Looks like there are quite a few BYC members hatching at the same time. I can't wait to give it a try in the future. keep us posted on the little babies progress.

Oh my!! This hatching thing is really nerve wracking! Soooo many hatching...I forget which ones! Here is a little chicken prayer for you all......

We start out with a perfect egg, inside a hint of life
A clean and warmed up "bator", we want to get this right.
The eggs are placed, the temps are good, we waite to see them grow.
For days on end, we worry, and waite for life to show.
Day 21 is here at last, they pip into this world.
A miracle we witness, and watch the chicks uncurl.
Stumbling little babies, we watch them come to life.
A blessing to our coops and flocks, we have become a "chicken midwife".

Boy it has been a long night. Egg 2 out of 10 has finally hatched. The waiting has been driving me nuts. I wanted to help so badly, but I didn't. The wait was killing me. Boy the baby chick is just chirping like crazy. I have 1 more that might be hatching tonight still. I don't know how much more I can take between my hatching and Speckledhen's twins. Who needs reality TV.

I just heard another 'cheep cheep' from the incubator - I'm encouraged that one is finally piped the air cell and is getting fresh air.
