Update! Knock on wood: my two roos are free ranging together

Thanks guys. They're both staying for the moment. It's hard to decide which to rehome if it comes to that but it will probably be Oliver. He is louder and bolder. Neither is aggressive but George is less so. Then again as my son says, Oliver is loud but he's much prettier than George. Sigh. It's not going to be easy.

I think they're both too small to eat

But she could always bring him over here. I have about 10 roosters and they all get along fine. When ever you introduce a new chicken there is going to be some fighting over pecking order, it's just natural. Our roo's do it for a couple minutes, then just stop and go on peacefully. Hens will even do it to. Sometimes you just have to let them work it out.

Kristin forgot to tell you that I put silkie eggs in the 'bator from my girls. PC was suppose to take them, but he's moving, so I'm not sure what's going to happen. But since I always hatch out all pullets...want one

I had Ron, a bantam "barnyard special", first free ranging with 5 hens (1 bantam hen, 4 standard) then I got a white rock roo. I just put the new guy in the fence with all the others. The next morning, when I got up, my white rock was very bloody and Ron was hiding. I found him and penned him up with his little lady for a couple of weeks. During that time, the big roo (which my daughter named Malfoy) would come around the pen and "talk junk" to Ron. I decided to let Ron back into yard with the others, just to see what would happen and there was no problem. I guess they worked it out. They've got a pretty big mostly wooded area (about an acre) to free range in, so there's plenty of room for the both of them. Now Ron just hangs with his lady and Malfoy gets all the other ladies (now up to 5). When Malfoy gets a bug up his butt and wants to chase, Ron just roosts in a tree

I missed that. Didn't know he was moving! Well, if you seriously always hatch all pullets that could be the answer, if PC doesn't want them anymore. I know I'll find some if I look hard enough. My hubby's head might explode though. He's just gotten used to this crowd. So far the boys doing just fine. It's only been a few days though. I'm always on edge waiting for something to happen.

Well, they've been together for several days and I haven't seen any problems between the two roos. The pullets aren't crazy about Oliver's advances now that he has access to them so there's some scattering and squawking. And Sasha, one of my older hens, is busy putting all those pullets in their place. The only thing that could be a problem is that Oliver seems to be crowing more than he was and that is going to cause problems with the neighbors. But I suspect it will be easier to find a new home for him if he's just crowing rather than fighting.
