The Light Brahams are 12 days old and the Barred Rocks are two weeks old, we got our chicks at TSC sexed in pullet bins, how likely is it that we could get a rooster? were only wanting hens, and we don't want to raise a bunch of roosters again just to get rid of them later, i read and a lot about the coloring of feet head wings etc, but it seems lots of people have different out comes, even if a few of the chicks are kinda gray and not as dark as they should be and they turn out to be hens. They really are too young to tell - I think 6-8 weeks any males will become obvious. You go have the prettiest bunch of chicks that I have seen in a long time. Everyone is adorable.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Awww....they sure are cute!!

I agree with Drumstick Diva here in that they are too young to sex yet. Give them a few weeks and the sexing characteristics will be more prominent.

Enjoy these adorable babies and welcome to our flock!

I'm glad you joined us.

Your chicks are adorable! It is too young to determine gender, though I'm not seeing any obvious rooster signs. Hatcheries usually guarantee about a 90% accuracy in sexing chicks, so if your feed store got its chicks from a hatchery, they are likely pullets. Mix ups can occur, however, so you may have one or two roosters. You should know when they are 6-8 weeks old.
