This is Butter. I'm wondering the gender on this fella. Butter is about 4 1/2 weeks old. I think it's a "he" and I would just like to note it's a cross from a silver laced wyandotte hen that was serviced by a buff orpington roo.
Lovely little fella, just wanted to know what you all thought. I'm wondering if the white is from silver laced wyandotte?

aw, thanks. I was hoping to get another roo, his daddy needs to "go." Not a nice rooster to my kids, can't take the chance. This one will be interesting. My only white-ish colored chicken! Exciting to watch them grow.

Looks like a roo to me too. And yes, the white coloration could have come from his mum. It will be interesting to see how he feathers out in a few months; I bet he is very handsome. Hope he has the temperament that you need!

I should try to get picks of the rest of the group of chicks just to make sure, I think the others look like pullets. We only had 4 hatch with 2 broody moms. So special to watch mother nature take charge. Let me know what you think

HERE they are!
These two are the same bird, Cocoa. I'm hoping for pullet.

Below is Peanut, not real confident about this one, seems paler comb than her litter mate (white one)

Below is Nugget, I think this little barred rock/orpington mix is a girl?

If the rooster was bad, you can expect the son to have the same temperament. I bred an awful tempered BO roo to a sweet RIR hen, and got a MONSTER. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

First post - roo
Second dark one - Probably a girl.
Thrid one - I won't guess... but I would watch out for it to be a possible roo.
Last - probably a roo. Look at that redness!

Great, so I can get a monster out of this roo too? He even attacks my legs if I wear floppy pants out to the coop. Crazy guy. So you think the last pic is red? I thought that one had the most pale comb of all. It is part barred rock, part buff orpington. It has mostly dark, grey rather than white bars so I was hopefull it was a she.
Drats, I guess time will tell right?

Just an update... the white one is a rooster(gave him away to my sister)

The golden is girl

The black one is a girl

The mixed barred rock is my new cockerel who is fond of the older ladies if you know what I mean!

Here is a picture of all three so you can see how they've grown:love
