My chicken HoneyBee got attacked by a mink (we suspect) about 5 days ago. She's doing really well for a chick missing a leg and top beak. As to someone's suggestion, ive been syringe feeding her baby parrot formula and trying to feed her mashed eggs(which she loves) and she's been keeping her weight, but where he beak is missing the formula is kind of caked on, I don't want to hurt her to try to get it off but I'm concerned it might begin to cover her nose airway. Water seems to do something to help but I dont want to hurt her. Any suggestions as a non stressful way to clean her beak? Some good news though, my schools tech department and I are going to work together and make her a new beak with the 3d printer! So that should be an adventure, but in the mean time in feeding her 4 times a day, 2 smaller meals in the middle of the day and 2 larger in the morning and night, is that enough? Or is it to much? I hope I'm doing well with carning for her, she's officially my room mate so I can here if shes in distress, and so she can have company.
Thanks for the support in my first post it helped alot :)

you can maybe clean the beak with a damp Q-tip? so the water won't hurt her?
Another feeding option like the eggs is mixing mashed feed with yogurt.

If you're monitoring her weight with a scale and she's not losing or gaining weight exceptionally she is probably getting just the right amount of food. Good job!

I would probably just rinse the beak gently with water or wipe with a soft damp cloth or a wet q-tip.

I would soak a washcloth with warm water and gently massage the caking formula off. The hot water should help it loosen up without you having to scrub it off. If it doesn’t come off, let the warm washcloth sit on the caking to help it loosen up a bit more. But don’t use too much water.

I'll try that, her beak doesn't seem to be as sensitive. And I didnt think of that, I'll definitely do that to make feeding more enjoyable. Thank you :)

I have to get a better scale the one I have isnt the best, but it seems shes keeping the same weight and the scale says so but its a bit dodgy haha. And I'll do the cloth and the q tip see which one is most effective. Thank you :)

Hopefully she wont get to squrimy, I had to give her a "bath" and she was not a fan. I know you really shouldnt bathe chickens but the food was to caked on her chest to not and I didn't want it to start to hurt. I will do that after ger morning breakfast. Thank you :)
