I have a Brinsea Eco 20.
After putting in my eggs which were sitting in a 60º+/- basement, how long does it take for the temp & humidity to bounce back?
I had it running at 99.7º before the eggs went in, and after putting them in - after an hour - the temp was only back in the 70s... and humidity was down as well.
How long should I wait before addressing this. I read somewhere that I should wait 48hrs before making any adjustments...
Can anyone shed some light on this?
THANKS.

UPDATE: Temp is back at 99.9º... Humidity is still down at 31%

The humidity probably won't get any higher than it is now, but it's not at a bad level anyway. You can add water but just remember that when you add more water it might bring your temp down a bit. I'd ignore it for at least 24 hours before adjusting anything.

Cool. Another question now that I'm back at temp. I'm at work now so I am unable to monitor.
With all of those eggs in the 'bator warming up, is it possible that the temp can go higher than what I had it set at before introducing the eggs?
Do the eggs become like hot stones that will actually increase them temp?

Nope...they sure don't, those eggs are simply holding temp. or should I say, warming up right now. They will reach the temp that the bator is that is all. I think somewhere around day 17 they are actually starting to hold their own temp. ....can't remember where I read that. Will have to look for that. It was a very interesting read.

Glad everything is back up to temp.

The temperature of the incubator could rise a little but it should stabilize. That's why it's recommended to set the eggs and leave it alone for a while.

No, eggs do generate their own heat.. if you had a constant 99.5F before setting eggs, that is as high as the temp should go..
