I posted sometime back that some serama eggs I ordered where literally thrown over the fence by my post office. Luckily none of the eggs were damaged.

A day or two ago I lost three eggs to bacteria. The chicks had been nearly fully developed.

Well just today one of the eggs I had separated into the incubator hatched! A lone serama chick!

However, the poor dear seems sorta listless? I'm new to raising chicks so maybe being sleepy is part of it. It's under the bantam who lost her eggs and she took right to it.

Beautiful chick. So glad you got at least one. I had a whole batch of eggs ruined by the post before. All of them were broken and smelled. The box was even ripped open. But a day old chick sleeps a lot. It takes a day or two before they’re really up and moving all over.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It is totally unfair that people have to gamble anytime they want something like eggs or birds shipped. I hope it works out for you!

Ah ok. I kind of figured. I just wanted to make sure in case it needed some help. Didn't want to wait until the last minute.
