So...My husband got me the OverEZ 12 Gallon Waterer for my chicks who are growing very quickly!

I am adding more panels to increase the 100sf space to 200sf, but want to consider placing this waterer outside the fence for ease of access...and not wasting ground space...and to keep the OFF the top of the waterer (I can already see the temptation to the chickens!).

Any thoughts?

We do not have that particular one, but do have nipple waterers outside, even in the winter, as they're heated. Our only issue with them is our Corgi figured out how to drink out of them.

In the younger pen, some were jumping on top, so I found a large rock to sit up there that would rock if they jumped on it. That worked!

Thank you - I appreciate the info :)

So, you have yours outside your run, and the chickens can reach the nipples with no problem? I'm thinking I can use a bungee or strap to ensure it stays in place.

Ha!! We had a Corgi - we just loved her!
