I'm hatching my FIRST eggs in a Brinsea Mini-II incubator. 7 BAs. 4 pipped yesterday (day 19). One of them broke through on the bottom area of the egg sometime late last night or in the wee hours of this morning. Any need to turn it hole up? There's activity. I can't see whether there is a membrane over it or not. I'm concerned about it b/c there may only be 4 out of 7 that actually hatch (and it took us forever to get these eggs!). Not much info on line and it's mixed. What is your suggestion? TIA!

I'd leave it alone.
I've also had chicks hatch from the wrong end and for me it isn't worth opening the incubator during hatch to mess with it.

I'm sorry, ya'll. I guess I wasn't clear (a little anxious earlier!). The pip is underneath the long side of the egg, not at either end. Now, after having one hatch, another two eggs have been pushed over and the openings are close to the floor of the incubator. I was wondering if that was a problem or not. I was just thinking that when this little chick fluffs up and dries out, I'll take him/her out and use that time to roll all the eggs pip side up. Does that sound okay?

It doesn't matter where the pip is. It will hatch just as easy on the bottom as the top or the side.
Still my opinion to leave it be.
Opening the incubator during hatch is still more dangerous for unhatched pipped eggs then anything else.

Sounds good. One more question? It has been over 24 hours since my first chick pipped and hasn't started zipping yet. It's active and chirping but how long should it take to zip after pipping?
