Hello, I have 6 young chickens here in our Miami home, they seem to be pretty happy, I am very excited about that first egg anytime soon...well a few months away as the chickens are about 2 months old. Miami is a funny place to have chickens, people are in disbelief when I tell them I have chickens in my yard. I have 5 hens, and I think I have 1 to be rooster. He is a Welsummer and I already tell he's going to be a rooster as his feathers are becoming dark in all the right places. I'm kind of excited to see him grow and become a beautiful Welsummer rooster, but I can't keep roosters in my neighborhood. Either way I'm going to keep him around til I'm positive he's a rooster and until he lets out a mighty crow.
I would love to connect with other South Florida Farmers, maybe to rehome my Welsummer rooster. I'm excited to read on about the life and times of chickens; I am still learning and my chickens are counting on me!
