Urban Florida Hen Missing Without A Single Trace. Did a Hawk Get her?

The coons will kill your chickens. They usually leave feathers or parts and I have never known of them to take everthing without a trace or even a feather. I think only a person could do that. In the meantime get rid of all the coons of any size. They only will cause you problems.

Could it have been a large snake? They had retics, rocks and whatnot in your area a few years back. They would leave no trace.

Oh, no I'm so sorry. I agree, it could have easily been a raccoon.

Raccoons leave a mess as do possums, hawks and other small predators. Foxes, coyotes, and feral/wild cats will carry the prey away from a "dangerous" area before they start to feed. I live in Lakeland, Fl and coyotes will come right into the yard to steal chickens day or night. Fences will only slow them down for a short time...they always find a way over or under. Sorry for your loss!
