A couple days ago I got some birds from a guy on craigslist. I ordered five, he gave me seven. A few were missing feathers on their backs but they seemed to be healthy otherwise. I didn't want to turn them down because I figured I could give them better care than they would get if I rejected them. Turns out I was wrong. Now they are pecking each other. I need to make room fast.

Do you think they would be OK if I released four of them? I see quail running around my neighborhood all the time. They all seem to be fat and happy. My only other option is giving them away on craigslist and I live in northern Nevada so you know what people use them for around here. I would rather they had a fighting chance to live their lives out rather than being a dog toy or shotgun fodder.

Urban Rock Chickens???? Can You Define Better? Not Familiar With This. Check Your Local Laws Before You Set Anything Loose--- Ever. It May Be Better To Give Them Up To Someone Who's Going To Use Them As "shotgun Fodder" Than To Look At The Local Gamewarden When He Finds Out Who Turned A Non- Native Speces Loose In His Territory--- The Fines For This Can Sometimes Make Dealing Crack Look Tame! Check Carefully Before You Do Anything Like That. They Likely Just Need More Room And Distractions--- Plants And Hiding Spaces.... Shade, Sand To Dust Bathe In... That Sort Of Thing. Often Times Domestically Raised Birds Turned Loose Either End Up As A "dog Toy" Or A Tasty Bit Of Fast Food For Nieghborhood Cats.
