i washed my four white ducks today, in preparation for Fridays show, and i discovered that they weren't coming up white.
is there any way i can make them whiter? will they clean themselves to a showable white?
they look really grubby, and i was wondering is there a natural substance i can use (preferably something i might already have at home since i dont have much time to get anything)??
i wont be able to wash them again until thursday, as wednesday is ANZAC day over here in Australia, so i need something that wont require a few days work - i am taking them in on thursday, and they are being judged on friday morning...

please, any advice for duck whiteneing would be really appreciated :)

What breed of duck? Pekins are supposed to be slightly yellowish tinted.

I let my ducks bath themselves. But for the white show dogs, if they don't come sparkling white I use an enzyme shampoo made for dogs. What I use is E-Z Groom Crystal White Shampoo. People show dogs in Australia, so you will have enzyme dog shampoo available.

If you can get Cowboy Magic (horse shampoo) in Australia, they make a great grass stain remover that will get organic dirt out of white.

I wash with Orvis. 1 Tablespoon in a gallon of warm water. I know that the show cattle people in Australia wash their cattle with Orvis, so you should be able to buy some of that. Spinners use it to wash their spinning wool. so that is another source for Orvis (wool yarn or spinner's supply shop)
