I have 2/5 eggs starting to unzip, I think, they both have pierced the eggs, and are pipping like nuts! I'm so nervous, my first hatch and first-time chicken raiser. Hen - hatched eggs, if that helps, for about 1/2 an hour or so I have heard them pipping and they have pierced the eggs, like I said. Can anyone give me some advice? I really don't want to have to try to help if something goes wring, is there anything I can do to ensure at least one safe chick? PLEASE HELP!!??? THIS IS URGENT

Mine are hatching too! Don't worry, it can take a day for them to get out. Give them some time. It is so hard to be patient!!

If you do need help, don't worry. I've helped a lot of chicks that have gone on to thrive. I'll do my best to help.

Best of luck!

First, take a deep breath. It's going to be okay. It can take anywhere from 2 hours to 24 hours from the first pip for a chick to completely hatch. Once they pip, the chick will rest, the lungs will adjust to breathing, the yolk will finish absorbing, and the veins will recede. After all of that happens, then the chick will finish hatching.

Thanks... I'm just waiting overnight now for naturto take its course...
