Long story short I need to bring my incubator with me to keep an eye on the eggs. There's nobody to watch them consistently during these crucial days but myself.

I have a hotel reservation and I am seriously considering packing the incubator in the truck to take with me. I don't have any other option besides leaving them unattended. I'll use a sleeping bag to soften their ride. If I am really careful driving will the eggs be ok?

Everything I have read on so far tells me it is BAD to move them around at this stage. I don't have anyone trustworthy enough who can care for them. Perhaps I'm just overprotective.

If you're not going to be gone long and can get back soon enough to take the hatchlings out of the 'bator, I'd just leave them. They don't need to be turned or fiddled with, so they don't really need you for anything.
Moving them at this stage could cause them to not get into proper position and fail to hatch.

Just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you decide to do :)
