We just got two pullets from the poultry show in Columbus, and have had them isolated with the other two birds we also got from the poultry show. The smallest one...she looks like a silkie but is actually another breed...I can't remember what she is. ..has been acting a bit quiet the last couple of days and today her eye is swollen shut. We treated it with eye wash and terramycin gel, but don't have any terramycin to give her orally, and due to the Holiday, can't get any today. We do have Tylan, but should we give her that, or just wait and see how she does? She doesn't seem to have any other symptoms, and ate breakfast this morning, but wasn't interested in any treats that I gave the others this afternoon. We changed their bedding from straw to shavings, in case it is mold or something in the straw, and have a heat light on the pen, which she appreciates very much. We are reluctant to separate her from the others, because she is so terrified when she is by herself.

OK, thank you. We will try it. She was singing last night when she went to bed, and ate breakfast this AM. She is so tiny though compared to her sister; about as big as a tennis ball. What dosage should we use?

the dosage ranges from
one tsp to one gallon water for 7-10 days
to
one tsp per half gallon water for five days

(depending on the severity of symptoms)... be sure to add the water TO the powder (and not the powder to the water) and give as the only source of water during treatment.

She recovered Ok without us having us to give her any at all...we think she might have injured the eye on a piece of straw, cause it is open again. Thanks for the info in case we need it though.
