Urgent Help Needed

I am having issues with my RENGUE incubator not heating. I am at day 13 with my duck eggs, I opened the incubator to start candling my eggs today and the temp dropped to 70 even though I only had it open for a short time. When finished candling my eggs the temp went up to 77.5 but won't go any higher, I don't know what to do and don't want to lose my 8 Cayuga eggs. Is my incubator faulty or what is going on? I just got the incubator about a month ago and this is the first time using it. Humidity is to high so I opened the vent, but then closed the vent with hopes that the incubator will heat up.. Please advise me as to what I can do..Also there is no alarm going off, like when I need to add water the alarm with sound and then I fill the water bottle and re-attach it to the incubator and within 1 min the alarm goes off and the humidity is almost back up to normal at that point.

Do you have a separate thermometer/hygrometer in there, or just a built in one? It’s good to have an accurate one such as Incutherm, but put in whatever you have.

Yes, I have an other source to check temp and humidity and there is no heat coming from the unit. My son took the eggs and placed them under our sitting mallard duck, hopefully the temp hasn't hurt the development of the embryo's

Good to know! Remember that the mamas do get off the nest to take a break every day, and it doesn’t hurt the eggs. In fact, some people think it’s beneficial.
I know others have successfully rescued eggs that got cold. I hope some of them will join in and share their stories.
Please keep us updated, I guess you’re about halfway there? So a couple more weeks?

Yes, they were due to hatch on the 8th of april
